I lost my grandmother to Alzheimers. It’s a horrible disease. For more than ten years I watched my vibrant, energetic grandmother deteriorate to the point that she was unable to take care of herself, walk, or talk. She even had to be fed. It’s a disease that is very hard on loved ones, as she began to fade away not knowing who my Dad, grandfather, and grandkids were anymore.
I was happy to donate. If I win Tess’ raffle to name a character in Tess’ next “Rizzoli & Isles” thriller, I will ask that the character be named after my grandmother, Letha Petersen.
